In the picturesque realm of Montana’s Yellowstone Club community, a stunning transformation awaits—a 6,755-square-foot residence enriched by the modern mountain aesthetic talents of Rebecca Loewke, founder of Rebecca Loewke Interiors based in Palo Alto, California. Her mission was clear: to reinvent this luxury home with warmth, rich textures, and timeless elegance, harmoniously aligning with the clients’ personal style. With a blend of local craftsmanship and treasured Californian furnishings, Loewke successfully orchestrated a design masterpiece.

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Designer: Rebecca Loewke
Location: Yellowstone Club, Montana
Furniture: BDDW, Vintage Hans Wegner, District Loom
Collaborators: Back Country Carpentry, Johnson Metal Works
Style: Modern Mountain Aesthetic

Loewke’s redesign centered around the concept of infusing natural elements to merge the luxurious interiors with the majestic outdoors. Central to this vision was the introduction of furniture crafted from raw, natural materials—a live-edge walnut coffee table hailing from Pennsylvania and intricately carved cedar side tables from California. Handmade wool pillows from San Francisco brought an artistic flair to the living room. Highlighting the magnificence of American craftsmanship, vintage Hans Wegner lounge chairs, upholstered in Holland & Sherry fabric, added a touch of refined elegance.

Entering through the inviting entryway, guests are welcomed by a vibrant rug—specifically chosen to hide any dirt left by the clients’ pets. The journey progresses into a kitchen where Loewke retained the original stone and tile, subtly enhanced by painting the cabinets and adorning the space with custom fixtures like a striking metal range hood. The kitchen seamlessly connects to the vibrant dining area featuring an extra-long BDDW dining table replete with a live edge and brass detailing, blending seamlessly with a Lindsey Adelman chandelier and vintage Hans Wegner chairs imported from California.

A quiet luxury reigns in the primary bedroom, defined by the elegance of mohair rugs and a leather bed, balanced with neutral tones to complement the existing wall plaster. In contrast, guest rooms are injected with playful elements like Bark House bark tiles, combining creativity with comfort. This theme of tailored luxury extends into the primary bathroom, where a vintage runner from District Loom in Bozeman adds a splash of color and character, making it a serene sanctuary for relaxation.

Personalization extends through the home’s eight bathrooms, each reimagined under Loewke’s guidance. She deftly replaced wall-to-wall mirrors with unique lighting and distinct cabinetry hues, introducing character and warmth. Meanwhile, the exterior exudes an organic charm, melded seamlessly with the environment through natural materials, thanks to the styling expertise of Lucy Bamman. Collaborations with local artisans like Back Country Carpentry and Johnson Metal Works were pivotal in actualizing these bespoke elements, enriching the home’s luxurious yet inviting character.

Rebecca Loewke has truly orchestrated a metamorphosis, blending a contemporary mountain aesthetic with the clients’ stylistic preferences. Her curated blend of rich textures and American craftsmanship, interwoven with local artistry, has culminated in a residence that beautifully narrates a love story between modern design and the natural splendor of Montana. Whether hosting a gathering of eighteen in its open living spaces or offering tranquil repose in its meticulously designed bedrooms, this Yellowstone Club home stands as a testament to Loewke’s profound design vision.
